When you’re swapping out IR lamps in a Sidel blow molding machine, you really only care about two things: does it fit, and does it put out the right amount of heat? We’ve spent a lot of time obsessing over the physics of shortwave radiation and mechanical fits so you don’t have to. The result? Lamps that just work. They’re drop-in replacements for about 95% of the blowing equipment out there. No fuss, no “almost fits.” The power struggle Here’s the thing about PET preforms: they’re picky. You need enough heat to get them ready, but too much and you’re scorching the plastic. That’s why we’re sticklers about voltage and wattage. Whether your oven needs 230V or 400V, we match the OEM wattage exactly. If you try to shove a 2500W tube into a 1500W slot, you’re asking for trouble—you’ll either fry the lamp or melt your product. By keeping the watt-per-centimeter ratio spot on, you can just plug them in and keep your current PLC heating curves exactly as they are. The nitty-gritty details We use heavy-wall quartz glass because these things go through a brutal cycle of heating and cooling. And then there’s the fit. We use R7s or SK15 connectors, and we keep the tolerances incredibly tight. If an end-cap is off by even a fraction of a millimeter, it won’t seat right. That leads to arcing, and then—pop—your new lamp is dead. To keep them running longer, we use a halogen cycle. It basically pushes the tungsten back onto the filament, which stops the glass from clouding up and losing its punch. Real-world advice These lamps put out a massive amount of heat. Because of that, your cooling fans have to be doing their job. If your airflow is blocked, the housing will overheat and kill the filament way faster than it should. The best part?
