If you’re running a mid-sized operation, you probably have a blow-molding machine that’s seen better days. It works, but it’s slow. It just can’t keep up with the cycle times you need right now. Most people think the only way out is to drop a fortune on a brand-new machine. But honestly? You might not need to. More often than not, the real bottleneck is just the oven. If your lamps are old and degraded, they’re fighting a losing battle. Switching them out for high-density infrared elements can actually move the needle on your total output. The a-ha moment with heat density Here is the thing: to speed up your cycle, you need that PET preform to hit the perfect stretching temperature—and you need it to happen fast. We use shortwave infrared lamps because they actually punch through the plastic instead of just sitting on the surface. When you jump to a higher wattage lamp—like moving from a basic tube to a high-output halogen—you’re basically cranking up the heat flux. The result? Your preform hits that “sweet spot” temperature way quicker. It’s a simple physics win. No one wants to rewire an entire oven We know the last thing you want is a weekend spent stripping wires. That’s why we make these as drop-in replacements. If you’re using R7s or SK15 connectors, our lamps fit those footprints exactly. You just pop them in and go. We usually offer 220V or 380V/400V. We lean toward the higher voltage options because they let you get more power without drawing too much current. It keeps your wiring from getting dangerously hot during those long, grueling shifts. The grit and the warnings To keep these from burning out under pressure, we use heavy-wall quartz glass. Some of our tubes even have a special coating that bounces the heat forward, aiming the energy right at the preform instead of wasting it on the oven walls. But a word of caution. High-wattage lamps put out a massive amount of heat. If you’re pushing things to 2500W or more, your ventilation and cooling fans have to be on their A-game. If your airflow is weak, you’ll start seeing “hot spots” on the PET. That leads to uneven walls or, worse, burnt preforms.
